I used to hide in shadows,
Afraid to be seen,
Feeling small in a world
Where everyone seemed so big.
Every mirror whispered lies,
“You’re not enough,” it said,
And I believed each word,
Letting them sink deep in my head.
I shrank from every challenge,
Thinking I would fail,
Watched others chase their dreams,
While mine grew frail and pale.
But one day, I looked closer,
At the cracks within my shell,
I saw a light still flickering,
In the darkness where I dwell.
I took a step, then another,
Each one felt like a climb,
But with each small victory,
I found some peace of mind.
I learned to silence the voices
That told me I couldn’t win,
I built my strength in silence,
And let the healing begin.
Now when I look in the mirror,
I see someone who is strong,
Not perfect, but still worthy,
And I know where I belong.
So if you’re battling like I was,
Feeling lost and alone,
Know that within you, too,
There’s a strength you’ve never known.
Keep climbing, step by step,
Don’t let the darkness stay,
Because every battle fought
Is one that lights your way.
