A Letter to My Friend by Walking Shadow Poetry.

I took you for granted, I know it’s true,
I overlooked the value I had in you.
Through every storm, through every trial,
You stayed by my side, with a steadfast smile.

You shared in my laughter, you shared in my pain,
In the darkest of times, you helped me sustain.
You listened to my worries, you felt my fears,
You stood by my side, drying my tears.

I see now the weight of my careless acts,
The way I ignored the love you gave back.
I was lost in my world, so blind to see,
The precious gem I had in you, in me.

I’m sorry for the times I didn’t show,
How much I cherished, how much I know.
The depth of your kindness, the warmth of your heart,
In my neglect, I let our friendship fall apart.

If I could rewind, if I could mend,
I’d fix the hurt, I’d make amends.
I’m reaching out with a heart laid bare,
Hoping you’ll find it in you to care.

I miss the moments, the laughter we shared,
The bond we built, the love that we declared.
Our memories are treasures, precious and rare,
And losing you feels like a weight I can’t bear.

You were my anchor in turbulent seas,
The calm in my chaos, the peace that would please.
Without you, I’ve wandered, lost and alone,
Longing for the comfort of the friendship we’d known.

So here’s my apology, heartfelt and deep,
A plea for forgiveness, a promise to keep.
I hope that in time, you’ll find it in your heart,
To give us another chance, to make a fresh start.

I understand if it’s too late, if trust is undone,
But please know, my friend, you’re second to none.
I treasure you dearly, more than words can convey,
And I hope that our friendship can find its way.
