In the quiet of the night, a phone call broke the peace,
A voice on the line with news that made my heart cease,
An accident took you away, someone so dear,
And now I’m left alone, with a heart full of tears.

We had a fight, with words that cut deep,
Things left unsaid, promises we couldn’t keep,
I wanted to mend it, to say I was sorry,
But the call came too late, in a moment of worry.

You were taken so fast, in the blink of an eye,
The weight of regret makes me want to cry,
I hoped to fix things, to clear the air,
But now I’m left with the pain of despair.

The promise of forgiveness now feels so heavy,
I vow to let go of the anger, to not let it carry,
I want to hold on to the love we once knew,
And cherish each memory, though it’s now out of view.

In the stillness of my grief, as I try to heal,
I promise to forgive, to be honest and real,
To hold on to the love, even though you’re gone,
To keep you in my heart and remember the bond.

Though the pain is sharp, and the loss feels so raw,
I’ll honor the love we had, and the moments we saw,
I’ll cherish each memory, and never let it fade,
For the love we shared was true, even if it’s now in shade.

And as I move forward, with tears in my eyes,
I vow to forgive, and let no grudges rise,
For in the end, it’s love that will stay,
Even after the hurt, and the long, aching days.
