Broken Trust by walking shadow poetry.

I never thought it would come from you,
The one I trusted to see me through.
I shared my secrets, my hopes, my fears,
But now those memories bring only tears.

You were the closest, the one I believed,
But in the end, it was you who deceived.
I thought we were stronger, thought we were real,
But now I’m left with wounds that won’t heal.

You smiled at me while hiding the knife,
And with one swift move, you shattered my life.
The betrayal cut deeper than I can explain,
Leaving me drowning in sorrow and pain.

I ask myself how I missed the signs,
How I let you cross so many lines.
I gave you my heart, I trusted your word,
But your actions spoke louder than anything I heard.

Now, I question everyone I meet,
Afraid that the pattern will repeat.
I’m guarded, closed off, and unsure who to trust,
Because the hurt you left turned my heart to dust.

I replay the moments, trying to see,
Where I went wrong, or why it was me.
But maybe it wasn’t something I did,
Maybe it’s just the truth you hid.

Still, it’s hard to move past the sting,
When betrayal takes away everything.
But even though I’m broken right now,
I know I’ll heal, someday, somehow.

I’ll rebuild myself, piece by piece,
And slowly, the pain will start to cease.
I’ll learn to trust again, with time,
But for now, I’m just healing from the climb.

Betrayal hurts, it tears you apart,
But it won’t forever control my heart.
One day, I’ll rise, stronger and free,
And your betrayal will be a memory.
