The one who stayed when life got loud and silent all at once.
You didn’t walk in when things were perfect,
you showed up when life was messy,
when my smile was heavy,
and my words were too tired to speak.
You didn’t ask me to explain the storm,
you just stood next to me and held the umbrella,
sometimes silently…
and that, to me, was everything.
You’ve seen me at my lowest,
and never once used it against me.
You’ve watched me break,
then helped me gather the pieces,
not because you had to,
but because that’s just who you are.
You’ve laughed with me until we couldn’t breathe,
cried with me when I was too tired to hide the pain,
believed in me on days I couldn’t see anything good in myself.
That kind of loyalty?
That kind of love?
It’s rare… and I don’t take it for granted.
You don’t just know my story,
you’ve walked through the chapters with me.
You’ve celebrated my wins like they were yours,
and never kept score when life pulled me back.
You were there when I had nothing to offer but presence,
and you called that enough.
Even in the quiet seasons,
when words are few and life gets busy,
you remain constant.
You don’t love me for the version that shines,
you love me even when I’m dim,
confused, tired, or moody.
And that’s the kind of friendship
that books try to describe
and movies try to capture,
but I get to live it every day because of you.
Here’s to you,
my confidant, my laughter partner,
my voice of reason when I lose my way,
my shelter when things feel too loud.
Thank you for showing me
that real friendship isn’t just about showing up,
it’s about staying.
Forever grateful.
Forever yours,
your best friend,
who doesn’t always say it,
but truly means it.
