{"id":2215,"date":"2024-05-30T17:08:31","date_gmt":"2024-05-30T17:08:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/?p=2215"},"modified":"2024-05-30T17:08:34","modified_gmt":"2024-05-30T17:08:34","slug":"pastors-kid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/pastors-kid\/","title":{"rendered":"PASTOR&#8217;S KID."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In the church&#8217;s shadow, I was the pastor&#8217;s child,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the pews, my secrets quietly compiled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a gentle hush, my lips were sealed,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amidst childhood&#8217;s traumas, my heart concealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Sunday&#8217;s grace, we all would pray,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But I carried burdens day by day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mask I wore, so tightly sealed,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hid the wounds that refused to be healed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The congregation, they never knew,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pain that in my young heart grew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;My lips are sealed,&#8221; I&#8217;d always say,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As I walked in the narrow, righteous way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bible&#8217;s verses, the songs we&#8217;d sing,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Could not mend the hurt that stung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet in the chapel&#8217;s quiet grace,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I sought solace for the tears I&#8217;d face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With every &#8220;Amen&#8221; and &#8220;Hallelujah&#8221; cried,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I buried the scars deep inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But in the chapel&#8217;s gentle light,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I yearned to heal, to take my flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One day, with courage, I dared to speak,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To unseal the words, I&#8217;d hidden for weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My father&#8217;s love, like a guiding hand,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Helped me find strength to understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;My lips are sealed&#8221; no longer held sway,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For healing came in a brand-new way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In faith and love, we found our place,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In God&#8217;s embrace, His endless grace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The traumas of youth, like shadows, fade,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As I walk a path of love, not afraid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No longer bound by the secrets concealed,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In faith and truth, my heart is healed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By Walking Shadow Poetry Kenya.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the church&#8217;s shadow, I was the pastor&#8217;s child, In the pews, my secrets quietly compiled.
