{"id":2411,"date":"2024-08-26T08:43:54","date_gmt":"2024-08-26T08:43:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/?p=2411"},"modified":"2024-08-26T08:43:55","modified_gmt":"2024-08-26T08:43:55","slug":"fragile-heart-desperate-soul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/fragile-heart-desperate-soul\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Fragile Heart, Desperate Soul&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I&#8217;ve been walking this road for a while,<br>A long, winding path paved with broken promises<br>And shattered dreams.<br>Every step I take echoes with the ghosts of loves lost,<br>And sometimes, I wonder if love is even real,<br>Or just a cruel joke played on those<br>Who dare to dream of forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve given my heart before,<br>Laid it bare in the hands of someone<br>Who promised the world<br>But left me with nothing but pieces,<br>Scattered, jagged edges that I\u2019ve tried to fit back together.<br>But no matter how hard I try,<br>The cracks still show,<br>And the pain still lingers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I crave love, the kind they write about in books,<br>The kind that fills you up,<br>Makes you whole,<br>But every time I get close,<br>I pull back.<br>I want it, I need it,<br>But I&#8217;m scared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scared of falling again,<br>Scared of the pain that comes with love,<br>The kind that tears you apart from the inside out,<br>Leaves you gasping for air,<br>Wondering if you&#8217;ll ever breathe easy again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I see couples walking hand in hand,<br>Their smiles bright,<br>Their love like a beacon in the dark,<br>And I wonder if that could be me,<br>If I could ever be that free,<br>To love without fear,<br>To trust without hesitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But my heart\u2026 it&#8217;s fragile,<br>Worn thin from too many heartbreaks,<br>Too many nights spent crying into a pillow,<br>Praying for the pain to stop.<br>I want to give it all,<br>To dive into love with open arms,<br>But every time I get close,<br>I feel the fear creeping in,<br>The doubt that whispers,<br>&#8220;What if it happens again?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What if I open up,<br>Let someone in,<br>Only to be left broken once more?<br>What if the love I crave<br>Is just a fantasy,<br>A dream that will never come true?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I try to convince myself<br>That I&#8217;m better off alone,<br>That I don&#8217;t need love to be whole,<br>But deep down, I know the truth.<br>I need it,<br>I want it,<br>But I&#8217;m scared of the cost,<br>Scared that I don&#8217;t have enough left to give.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So I walk this road,<br>Alone, but not really.<br>My heart is still here,<br>Beating, hoping, dreaming,<br>But it&#8217;s guarded now,<br>Hidden behind walls built from pain and fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I crave love,<br>But I\u2019m not sure I\u2019m ready,<br>Not sure my heart can take another hit,<br>Not sure I can give it all again,<br>But maybe, just maybe,<br>There\u2019s someone out there,<br>Someone who can see past the walls,<br>Past the fear,<br>Someone who can help me believe again,<br>Help me find the strength to give it all,<br>To love without fear,<br>To finally be free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Until then, I\u2019ll keep walking,<br>One step at a time,<br>Carrying the hope that one day,<br>I\u2019ll find the love I crave,<br>The love I deserve,<br>And when that day comes,<br>I hope I\u2019ll be ready,<br>Ready to give it all,<br>Ready to love again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walking Shadow Poetry Kenya.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been walking this road for a while,A long, winding path paved with broken promisesAnd shattered dreams.Every step I take echoes with the ghosts of loves lost,And sometimes, I wonder if love is even real,Or just a cruel joke played on thoseWho dare to dream of forever.
