{"id":2414,"date":"2024-08-26T08:51:12","date_gmt":"2024-08-26T08:51:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/?p=2414"},"modified":"2024-08-26T08:51:14","modified_gmt":"2024-08-26T08:51:14","slug":"the-fear-of-love-the-craving-for-love","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/the-fear-of-love-the-craving-for-love\/","title":{"rendered":"The Fear of Love, The Craving for Love"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I\u2019ve been down this road before,<br>Where love feels like a battlefield,<br>And every scar tells a story,<br>Of promises broken,<br>Of trust shattered,<br>Of dreams that turned to dust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I gave my heart,<br>Like a gift wrapped in hope,<br>And watched as it was taken,<br>Then tossed aside,<br>As if my love wasn\u2019t enough,<br>As if I wasn\u2019t enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I craved connection,<br>Yearned for that deep bond,<br>Where two souls become one,<br>Where love isn\u2019t just a word,<br>But a home, a shelter, a safe place.<br>But every time, it slipped through my fingers,<br>Like sand,<br>Leaving me empty,<br>Alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, here I stand,<br>Craving love again,<br>That true, pure kind of love,<br>The one that fills the void,<br>Heals the wounds,<br>And makes life worth living.<br>But my heart, it\u2019s scarred,<br>Bruised and battered,<br>And I wonder,<br>Am I ready to love again?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Can I open up these walls,<br>That I\u2019ve built so high?<br>Can I let someone in,<br>And trust them with my heart?<br>Or will I just get hurt,<br>Like all the times before?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I want to give my all,<br>To love without fear,<br>To dive in headfirst,<br>And not look back.<br>But the fear, it lingers,<br>Whispering in my ear,<br>\u201cWhat if it doesn\u2019t work?<br>What if you fall again?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m torn between craving and fear,<br>Between the need to be loved,<br>And the fear of getting hurt.<br>I want to believe that love is still out there,<br>That someone is waiting,<br>Someone who\u2019ll see me for who I am,<br>And love me, scars and all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But what if I\u2019m not ready?<br>What if my heart isn\u2019t strong enough,<br>To bear the weight of love again?<br>What if I\u2019ve lost the ability,<br>To trust, to hope, to dream?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet deep down,<br>There\u2019s a part of me that still believes,<br>That love is worth the risk,<br>That somewhere out there,<br>Is a love that\u2019s true,<br>A love that heals,<br>A love that stays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So here I stand,<br>On the edge of love,<br>Scared but willing,<br>Hurt but hopeful,<br>Ready to take the plunge,<br>To give it one more try,<br>Because in the end,<br>I know that love,<br>True love,<br>Is worth fighting for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And maybe, just maybe,<br>This time,<br>It\u2019ll be different.<br>Maybe this time,<br>I\u2019ll find the love I\u2019ve been craving,<br>The love that\u2019s real,<br>The love that lasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walking Shadow Poetry Kenya.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve been down this road before,Where love feels like a battlefield,And every scar tells a story,Of promises broken,Of trust shattered,Of dreams that turned to dust.
