{"id":2461,"date":"2024-08-28T10:26:21","date_gmt":"2024-08-28T10:26:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/?p=2461"},"modified":"2024-08-28T10:26:24","modified_gmt":"2024-08-28T10:26:24","slug":"learning-to-love-me-spoken-word","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/learning-to-love-me-spoken-word\/","title":{"rendered":"Learning to Love Me spoken word."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I used to search for love in every corner,<br>In every face, in every word,<br>Hoping someone would see me,<br>And finally, I\u2019d be heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the more I searched,<br>The more I felt alone,<br>Trying to find my worth<br>In places I\u2019d never known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I thought love was something<br>I had to earn,<br>A prize for the perfect,<br>A lesson I had to learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But one day, I got tired,<br>Of looking outside,<br>So I turned inward,<br>To see what I could find.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It wasn\u2019t easy<br>The mirror didn\u2019t lie,<br>I saw the flaws, the scars,<br>And it made me want to cry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But I kept looking,<br>Deeper this time,<br>Past the surface,<br>Past everything this phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I saw the pain,<br>The struggles I\u2019d faced,<br>And I realized<br>I needed to embrace<br>The parts of me<br>That I\u2019d pushed away,<br>The parts of me<br>That were waiting to stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So I started to speak<br>Kind words to my soul,<br>Told myself I was worthy,<br>That I was whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I learned to forgive,<br>To let go of the past,<br>To love myself first,<br>And make that love last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, when I look in the mirror,<br>I see more than just a face,<br>I see someone who\u2019s been through it all,<br>And still found grace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Self-love isn\u2019t a destination,<br>It\u2019s a journey, a choice,<br>It\u2019s about finding your own worth,<br>And listening to your inner voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, if you\u2019re searching for love,<br>Start with the one you see,<br>Because the greatest love you\u2019ll ever find,<br>Is learning to love <em>me<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walking Shadow Poetry Kenya.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I used to search for love in every corner,In every face, in every word,Hoping someone would see me,And finally, I\u2019d be heard.
