{"id":2616,"date":"2024-09-08T15:25:14","date_gmt":"2024-09-08T15:25:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/?p=2616"},"modified":"2024-09-08T15:25:16","modified_gmt":"2024-09-08T15:25:16","slug":"the-pain-of-trusting-by-walking-shadow-poetry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/the-pain-of-trusting-by-walking-shadow-poetry\/","title":{"rendered":"The Pain of Trusting by walking shadow poetry"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I gave my heart, my secrets, my soul,<br>To those I thought would keep me whole.<br>I trusted deeply, without a doubt,<br>But now I know what trust is about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ones I loved, the ones I called mine,<br>Turned their backs and crossed the line.<br>They knew my fears, they knew my dreams,<br>But broke my heart at the seams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I shared my story, I opened my heart,<br>But they tore it down, piece by part.<br>I never thought they\u2019d hurt me this way,<br>But betrayal hit hard, and it won\u2019t go away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now trust feels like a distant thing,<br>Like a bird with a broken wing.<br>I want to believe, to open the door,<br>But every time, I\u2019m afraid of more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More lies, more pain, more scars to show,<br>From people I loved, but didn\u2019t know.<br>They wore a mask, they played their part,<br>While I handed them pieces of my heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, I guard myself, I hide inside,<br>Keeping my distance, trying to manage,<br>Through life without letting anyone near,<br>Afraid of the hurt, consumed by fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But deep down, I want to trust again,<br>To let someone in, to find a friend.<br>Yet the pain of betrayal still lingers strong,<br>Making me question if trusting is wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m learning, though, to take it slow,<br>To heal from the wounds that still show.<br>It\u2019s okay to be cautious, okay to protect,<br>But not everyone\u2019s out to reject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe one day, I\u2019ll lower my wall,<br>Letting someone in, risking it all.<br>But for now, I\u2019ll heal at my own pace,<br>And trust that, in time, I\u2019ll find my safe space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;ve been hurt, know you&#8217;re not alone,<br>It takes time to heal and rebuild your own.<br>Trust comes back, slow but true,<br>And one day, it will start with you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I gave my heart, my secrets, my soul,To those I thought would keep me whole.I trusted deeply, without a doubt,But now I know what trust is about.
