{"id":3012,"date":"2025-01-27T13:28:42","date_gmt":"2025-01-27T13:28:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/?p=3012"},"modified":"2025-01-27T13:28:46","modified_gmt":"2025-01-27T13:28:46","slug":"spoken-word-breaking-the-walls-by-walking-shadow-poetry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/spoken-word-breaking-the-walls-by-walking-shadow-poetry\/","title":{"rendered":"Spoken Word: &#8220;Breaking the Walls&#8221; by walking shadow poetry"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We all hide behind walls we\u2019ve built so tall,<br>Afraid of what\u2019s inside, afraid of the fall.<br>We think that if we keep everyone far away,<br>It\u2019ll protect us, but we\u2019re only pushing them away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These defenses we put up, they never heal,<br>They just make the hurt harder to deal.<br>We smile, pretend, say we&#8217;re fine,<br>But inside, it\u2019s like we\u2019re running out of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avoidance creeps in like a shadow we can&#8217;t ignore,<br>Pretending everything&#8217;s okay when we\u2019re really at war.<br>It\u2019s easier to say, \u201cI&#8217;m fine, don\u2019t worry,\u201d<br>Than let someone see the scars in our story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We project our pain, blame it on others,<br>But deep down, we know we\u2019re scared of what smothers.<br>Our fear, our shame, our doubts that we hide,<br>It&#8217;s time to stop running, and let it all collide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Repression\u2019s a trick we\u2019ve learned so well,<br>Pushing feelings down, pretending we\u2019re not in hell.<br>But those feelings, they come back strong,<br>And they\u2019ll haunt us until we admit what&#8217;s gone wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But here\u2019s the truth we need to face<br>We can&#8217;t keep running, we can\u2019t hide from this space.<br>It\u2019s time to break down these walls,<br>Let them fall and finally feel the call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not easy, I know, to show what\u2019s inside,<br>To drop the masks and stop the lies.<br>But real healing only begins when we\u2019re real,<br>When we stop pretending, when we start to feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, let\u2019s stop hiding and start being true,<br>To ourselves, to each other nothing to prove.<br>When we let go of the fear that holds us tight,<br>That\u2019s when we\u2019ll find peace, that\u2019s when we\u2019ll find light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, it\u2019s scary.<br>But it\u2019s necessary.<br>To drop the walls,<br>To stop the games.<br>To break free,<br>And finally say our names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>End.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We all hide behind walls we\u2019ve built so tall,Afraid of what\u2019s inside, afraid of the fall.We think that if we keep everyone far away,It\u2019ll protect us, but we\u2019re only pushing them away.
