{"id":3097,"date":"2025-03-10T13:38:49","date_gmt":"2025-03-10T13:38:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/?p=3097"},"modified":"2025-03-10T13:38:51","modified_gmt":"2025-03-10T13:38:51","slug":"the-hands-that-never-rest-by-walking-shadow-poetry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/the-hands-that-never-rest-by-walking-shadow-poetry\/","title":{"rendered":"The Hands That Never Rest by Walking Shadow poetry"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>She wakes before the world can see,<br>Rubs her eyes, prepares her tea.<br>The kids are calling, time moves fast,<br>No moment lingers, nothing lasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, she packs the little bags,<br>Checks the homework, grabs the tags.<br>Then off she goes, another race,<br>Between the workplace and her place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some are married, some alone,<br>Single moms who build a home.<br>No helping hand, no one near,<br>Yet still, they push despite the fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Young mothers, barely grown,<br>Holding babies on their own.<br>Dreams postponed but never gone,<br>They work all night, then face the dawn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And then, the widows, hearts so strong,<br>Carrying pain, yet moving on.<br>They wipe the tears, they wear a smile,<br>Though grief may stay for quite a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step moms too, a love so deep,<br>Raising kids they didn\u2019t keep.<br>Bridging gaps with care so true,<br>Making families out of two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite it all, the endless weight,<br>The love, the loss, the twist of fate<br>They show up strong, they stand up tall,<br>They give their children, friends, their all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then night arrives, she takes a seat,<br>Finally, rests her aching feet.<br>But even then, inside her head,<br>Tomorrow\u2019s list is being read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The world may ask, &#8220;How do they cope?&#8221;<br>They smile, they fight, they cling to hope.<br>For every tear and every test,<br>A working mom still gives her best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So here\u2019s to you, your love, your grace,<br>Your endless strength, your steady pace.<br>Today we cheer, today we see,<br>A mother works relentlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"WE GREW AS FAMILY YET WE NO LONGER TALK by walking shadow poetry | POVERTY | POETESS | Voice Over\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xwchgGvDN8A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>She wakes before the world can see,Rubs her eyes, prepares her tea.The kids are calling, time moves fast,No moment lingers, nothing lasts.
