{"id":3241,"date":"2025-04-21T14:09:08","date_gmt":"2025-04-21T14:09:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/?p=3241"},"modified":"2025-04-21T14:09:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-21T14:09:09","slug":"i-let-you-go-because-i-learned-to-love-me-too","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/i-let-you-go-because-i-learned-to-love-me-too\/","title":{"rendered":"I Let You Go, Because I Learned to Love Me Too"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I didn\u2019t just wake up feeling strong.<br>That strength grew from late nights,<br>Tear-stained pillows, and quiet prayers I barely managed to say.<br>So many times, I couldn\u2019t breathe from the weight of questions I never got answers to.<br>I kept asking myself what I did wrong,<br>Why love couldn\u2019t fix it,<br>Why I kept holding on to someone who wasn\u2019t holding back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eventually, I made a choice.<br>Would I keep sacrificing my peace for someone who wouldn&#8217;t choose me?<br>Or would I finally walk away with the little strength I had left?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So yes, I let you go.<br>Not because I stopped caring.<br>Not because you didn\u2019t matter.<br>But because I finally started to matter to myself too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve learned to respect myself enough to stop chasing people who walk away too easily.<br>I spent too many nights making excuses for actions that clearly showed where I stood.<br>I built homes in hearts that weren\u2019t mine,<br>And now, I\u2019ve decided to stop calling that love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, I respect you enough to let you go find what\u2019s right for you.<br>Maybe we weren\u2019t meant to last.<br>Maybe we were meant to grow apart.<br>And maybe that\u2019s okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I showed up with everything I had.<br>I gave my best.<br>But I\u2019ve realized that constantly giving without receiving isn\u2019t love,<br>It\u2019s losing yourself trying to save something that already sank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some days, the silence felt heavier than your goodbye.<br>Other days, peace slowly crept in where confusion used to live.<br>I cried over what we had, yes,<br>But now I smile at how far I\u2019ve come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I know now,<br>Love shouldn\u2019t hurt more than it heals.<br>It shouldn\u2019t feel like I\u2019m the only one trying.<br>I\u2019m tired of being the one who always understands while no one tries to understand me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Letting go wasn\u2019t weakness.<br>It took courage.<br>I chose to stop breaking myself into pieces just to keep someone whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You were part of my story,<br>But I refuse to rewrite who I am to fit a chapter that no longer needs me.<br>I\u2019ve realized that wanting someone who wants you back isn\u2019t asking for too much<br>It\u2019s asking for the basics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, I\u2019ll keep healing.<br>I\u2019ll keep growing.<br>And yes, I\u2019ll love again, this time without shrinking,<br>Without second-guessing,<br>And with the boldness of someone who finally learned their worth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Letting go wasn\u2019t the end.<br>It was the beginning of me choosing me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/when-they-only-call-you-when-they-need-you-thats-not-love\/\">When They Only Call You When They Need You, That\u2019s Not Love.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/walkingshadowpoetrykenya\/\">(17) Facebook<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"I STAYED IN PLACES I SHOULD HAVE LEFT || SPOKEN WORD BY WALKING SHADOW POETRY\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AdjD4RPL74I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
