{"id":3337,"date":"2025-06-30T10:33:46","date_gmt":"2025-06-30T10:33:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/?p=3337"},"modified":"2025-06-30T10:33:50","modified_gmt":"2025-06-30T10:33:50","slug":"powerful-connection-with-anyone-in-real-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/powerful-connection-with-anyone-in-real-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Powerful connection with Anyone in Real-Life."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I\u2019ve learned a few things,<br>Not from books,<br>And not from the quotes we like to repost.<br>Instead, it\u2019s from sitting with people,<br>Listening closely to the stories<br>That rarely make it to the toast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, every time I talk to someone now,<br>I try to meet them there, not here.<br>So, I match how they move.<br>If they speak softly, I soften my tone too.<br>And if they rush, I adjust, like shifting gears on cue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why? Because people don\u2019t always remember what you said.<br>However, they\u2019ll always remember how you made them feel instead.<br>If they feel seen really seen,<br>Then they\u2019ll sit with you longer,<br>And gradually, they\u2019ll open up<br>Like flowers when the sun gets real and stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One time, I looked a man straight in the eyes.<br>I didn\u2019t rush.<br>I didn\u2019t assume.<br>Rather, I leaned into his space,<br>Not to intrude,<br>But just to say, <em>\u201cI\u2019m here too.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After that, something shifted.<br>The tone, the flow, it all changed,<br>Like rhythm finally finding its beat.<br>He told me, \u201cIt\u2019s rare to be understood like this.\u201d<br>And just like that,<br>The air around us wasn\u2019t just air it became sweet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You see, people are drawn to those who \u201cget\u201d them.<br>Not the ones who fix,<br>Not the ones who judge,<br>And certainly not those who trick.<br>Instead, it&#8217;s those who understand,<br>Who stay present not just with words,<br>But by listening with both heart and hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So now, when I can, I ask real questions.<br>Questions like, \u201cHow did you get here?\u201d or \u201cWhat made you choose that path?\u201d<br>Because when people get to talk about themselves,<br>They light up like sunlight caught in a photograph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then they smile.<br>They boast.<br>They breathe deeper.<br>They glow.<br>And as they speak, I nod slow\u2026<br>Letting it all flow.<br>Because the more they talk, the more I know,<br>And honestly, the more I know, the more I grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At times, I also ask for their opinion.<br>Not necessarily because I need advice,<br>But because I\u2019ve realized asking is nice.<br>It shows them their voice carries weight,<br>That their thoughts aren\u2019t just background noise I tolerate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And from there\u2026<br>They lean in.<br>They commit.<br>They begin to trust.<br>Before you know it, we\u2019ve built something,<br>Something sacred, from ordinary dust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also and I can\u2019t stress this enough,<br>Don\u2019t forget the power of a real compliment.<br>Not the usual \u201cyou look nice\u201d we say in passing,<br>But the kind that actually lands:<br>\u201cI see you.\u201d<br>\u201cI value you.\u201d<br>\u201cYou matter, right now, in this moment, as you stand.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sure, it\u2019s old-school, but it still works.<br>Why?
