{"id":3357,"date":"2025-07-21T12:39:05","date_gmt":"2025-07-21T12:39:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/?p=3357"},"modified":"2025-07-21T12:45:49","modified_gmt":"2025-07-21T12:45:49","slug":"thank-you-for-choosing-to-be-the-best-father","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/walkingshadowpoetry.com\/blog\/thank-you-for-choosing-to-be-the-best-father\/","title":{"rendered":"Thank you for choosing to Be the best Father."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I don&#8217;t know where to begin,<br>Because \u201cthank you\u201d feels too small<br>For the mountain of love you\u2019ve carried,<br>And the steady hands that held me through it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You never wore a cape,<br>But you were my hero anyway,<br>Not because you flew,<br>But because you stayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stayed when life was heavy.<br>Stayed when my dreams were still whispers.<br>Stayed when I didn\u2019t yet believe in myself,<br>But you did loudly, proudly, endlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You were never just a provider,<br>You were a presence.<br>Not just a name on my birth certificate,<br>But the voice that reminded me, \u201cYou are capable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I stumbled, you didn\u2019t shame.<br>You corrected with compassion.<br>You saw my mess,<br>But still saw magic in me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I remember how you\u2019d wait up late,<br>Even when you had work at dawn,<br>Just to make sure I got home safe,<br>Even when I rolled my eyes.<br>Even when I didn\u2019t say thank you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I see it all now.<br>Every sacrifice wrapped in silence.<br>Every dream of mine you folded into yours.<br>You never asked for applause,<br>But today, please hear it in every line of this poem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you for choosing me.<br>Thank you for choosing to show up.<br>To not just be a dad by duty,<br>But a father by heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middle class?
