A Heart That Wonders

You’ve walked through love like a battlefield,
Each step heavy with the memories of wounds,
The scars of trust betrayed,
The echoes of promises broken,
And now, as you stand on the edge of hope,
You wonder if true love is just a myth,
A fairy tale made to soothe lonely hearts.

Your past has painted love in shades of gray,
Where once it was vibrant, full of light,
Now it feels distant, almost unreachable,
A star that flickers, but never stays,
And so you guard your heart,
Build walls high and thick,
Afraid to let anyone too close,
Lest they tear it down,
Like those who came before.

But deep down, beneath the layers of doubt,
There’s a part of you that still believes,
That still yearns for a love that’s real,
That’s patient, that’s kind,
A love that won’t leave when things get tough,
A love that won’t shatter at the first sign of trouble,
A love that stays.

It’s hard to keep that hope alive,
When every relationship has ended in pain,
When every “forever” turned out to be fleeting,
When you’ve given so much, only to be left with less,
But know this:
True love does exist,
It’s just not always easy to find.

True love isn’t perfect,
It’s not without its flaws,
It doesn’t always come wrapped in the way you expect,
But when it’s real, it’s strong,
It endures, it forgives, it grows,
It’s a love that sees your scars,
And chooses to stay,
Not despite them, but because of them.

You’ve been hurt,
And it’s only natural to protect yourself,
To question if love is worth the risk,
But don’t let the past dictate your future,
Don’t let those who didn’t know how to love you,
Convince you that you’re unworthy of being loved right.

True love is out there,
But it’s not always in the places you’ve looked,
It’s not in the grand gestures,
Or the perfect moments,
It’s in the quiet support,
The consistent care,
The little things that build over time,
Into something solid, something real.

So give yourself the chance to believe again,
To open your heart, just a little,
To the possibility that love can be different,
That it can be kind, gentle, lasting,
That it can heal the wounds you carry,
And bring light to the places that have known only darkness.

You are deserving of that kind of love,
The kind that doesn’t leave when things get hard,
The kind that stands by you, through every storm,
The kind that loves you, not for who you might be,
But for exactly who you are.

Let go of the fear,
That true love isn’t meant for you,
For it’s out there,
Waiting, just as you are,
To find the heart that’s been searching,
For a love that’s as real as the one you have to give.
