Forgiving Yourself.

How will I Forgive me? How?
A tender whisper deep within my soul,
Am hoping That today, maybe today,
The mirror will reflect a lighter heart,
A mind no longer bound by chains of regret and guilt.

Yet, as the sun rises high,
TI can’t stop myself from blaming me of what I did,
Painful Memories and thoughts cling in my mind,
Like thorns so hard to remove from the heart,
Reminding me of wounds that are self-inflicted.

They say forgive, let go, move on,
But how do you release the grip on your own soul?
Forgiving myself is the hardest chains to break
Because they are forged in the fires of self-blame,
How do I walk forward when my feet
Is stuck in the quicksand of past mistakes?

Night falls, and with it, the ache in my heart deepens,
The longing for peace, for a day where tears don’t soak my pillow,
When the weight of guilt won’t feel like a mountain
Too steep to climb.
But still, each breath whispers,
“Maybe tomorrow…” Just Maybe Tomorrow…

And tomorrow comes, as it always does,
Bringing with it a small light less tears,
Feeling weak at First, but growing stronger with time,
I believe one day I will completely forgive myself,
Since Forgiveness is not a single act,
But a journey, one step at a time.

I start with grace, for I am human,
Flawed and beautiful in my imperfection.
I speak kindness into my heart,
And let go of the stones I have carried for so long,
One by one, as I would a heavy load.

With each sunrise, I choose to forgive
Just a little more, to release and to love me more,
The burden that’s not mine alone to bear.
And in time, I will find that healing
Is a path I choose to walk daily,
Not a destination I must reach in a hurry.

So, when the mirror reflects my face again,
I will see not the scars, but the strength
That comes from rising, each and every day,
To forgive, to heal, to love myself anew.
For in the end, am worthy of peace,
Of joy, of the freedom that comes
When I finally lay my burdens down.
