HERO SYNDROME.

In a world full of noise, where heroes are made,
Sometimes we forget, we’re just in our own shade.
Hero syndrome, it’s called, when we think we’re the one,
Who can fix every problem, until the day is done.

We rush to the rescue, without a second thought,
Ignoring our own needs, thinking we’re all we’ve got.
But deep down inside, we’re just scared and unsure,
Trying to be perfect, our flaws we try to obscure.

To deal with this syndrome, we must first understand,
That it’s okay to ask for help, to reach out a hand.
We’re not meant to carry the world on our own,
It’s okay to not be perfect, to not be carved from stone.

Take a step back, breathe, and let yourself be,
You’re not less of a hero, for setting yourself free.
Take care of yourself, like you would a friend,
And the hero syndrome’s grip, you’ll eventually mend.

For true heroes know, it’s not about being strong,
But about knowing when to admit, when they’re wrong.
It’s about being there, not just for others, but for you,
Because even heroes need saving, it’s true.

So let go of the cape, the need to always save the day,
And embrace the hero within, in a different way.
By being kind to yourself, by knowing when to rest,
By understanding that even heroes need to be blessed.

For hero syndrome can be tamed, if we learn to see,
That sometimes the greatest hero, is simply being free.
Free from the burden of perfection, free from the need to impress,
Just being who we are, nothing more, nothing less.
