There’s a weight on my chest,
Heavy as the night,
Every step feels like a battle,
Every breath a fight.
Pain has become a companion,
One that never leaves,
It follows me through the days,
And haunts me in my dreams.
I’ve seen the darkness,
Felt it wrap around my soul,
Whispering that this is it,
That I’ll never be whole.
But deep down, beneath the hurt,
There’s a flicker of light,
A small, stubborn hope
That refuses to give up the fight.
It tells me that one day,
The clouds will part,
That the sun will shine again,
And warmth will fill my heart.
So I hold on,
Even when the nights are long,
Even when the tears fall
And everything feels wrong.
Because I know that pain is not forever,
It’s a chapter, not the end,
And though the road is rough now,
It will smooth out around the bend.
I cling to the belief
That joy is waiting for me,
That beyond this storm,
There’s a calm I will see.
So I keep going, step by step,
Even when it feels like too much,
Because hope is my anchor,
My unbreakable crutch.
One day, the hurt will fade,
And I’ll stand tall and free,
But until then, I’ll hold on to hope,
Knowing better days are meant for me.
