It’s okay to walk away by walking shadow poetry

I know it hurts,
I see the way you’ve been holding on,
to a love that once felt so certain,
to a person who used to feel like home.
But now you’re left wondering,
in the silence that never speaks,
in the missed calls,
the unread texts,
the empty spaces they leave behind.

You’ve asked the questions,
softly, carefully,
“Is something wrong?”
But they say, “No.”
And yet,
you can feel the change,
like the air is different between you now.
And so you apologize,
for what, you’re not even sure.
Just hoping, maybe,
if you say sorry enough,
things will go back to how they were.

But here’s the truth,
you deserve more than unanswered calls,
more than a love you have to beg for.
You deserve someone
who doesn’t make you question
where you stand,
someone who makes time for you,
who values the effort you give
without you having to ask for it.

I know it’s hard,
to let go when your heart still remembers
how close you once were,
when you can still feel their presence
even in their absence.
But sometimes,
holding on hurts more than leaving.
Sometimes,
the silence speaks louder than any words,
telling you it’s time to choose yourself.

You’ve done what you can
you’ve reached out,
you’ve apologized,
you’ve waited.
But now,
you need to ask yourself:
Is holding on worth the pain?
Is waiting for a love that isn’t reaching back
what you deserve?

Letting go isn’t easy.
It’s messy,
it’s filled with doubts,
wondering if you’re making the right choice.
But letting go doesn’t mean you didn’t care,
it doesn’t mean you didn’t try.
It just means you’re choosing your peace,
choosing to stop chasing someone
who no longer sees your worth.

It’s okay to walk away,
even if you don’t have all the answers,
even if the door didn’t close with a clear goodbye.
Sometimes, the hardest goodbyes
are the ones that never get spoken.

You’ll heal,
even if it feels impossible right now.
You’ll find your way through the pain,
and in time,
you’ll realize
that letting go was the strongest thing you could do.

You’re not losing yourself by moving on,
you’re finding the part of you
that deserves to be loved back,
to be held,
to be seen
without asking for it.
