I see you, standing there,
giving so much of yourself,
to people who only come around
when it’s easy for them,
when it costs them nothing,
when all they want is to pass the time,
never to stay, never to commit.

You open your heart,
hoping that maybe this time,
it will be different.
But all they ever seem to want
is your company for the moment,
your kindness when it’s convenient,
your warmth without the weight of promises.

They never speak of the future,
never talk about building something real.
They laugh, they smile, they take,
but they never carry the load,
never offer the part of themselves
that means they’re here to stay.

And it hurts
feeling like you’re just an option,
a stop along their way
to something else, someone else.
You deserve more than half-hearted love,
more than someone who doesn’t want the depth
of what you have to offer.

You give them your time, your energy,
hoping that if you’re patient enough,
they’ll realize your worth.
But the truth is,
people who are only here to pass time
will never see the value
of what’s real,
what’s lasting,
what requires more than just showing up
when it suits them.

I know it feels unfair,
