NOT CRAZY JUST IN NEED OF LOVE

When the mind snaps…
It doesn’t always scream.
Sometimes it goes quiet,
too quiet.
Like a storm pretending to rest
while destroying everything inside.

And when you see someone breaking…
Don’t rush to fix them.
Be still.
Because sometimes,
the holiest thing you can offer
is silence that listens.

Don’t say, “Calm down.”
Say, “You’re safe. I’m here.”
Let your presence become a hand
that steadies their shaking soul.

When their words tumble out,
messy and confused,
don’t analyze them.
Just listen.
Because healing doesn’t start
with perfect answers,
it starts with understanding hearts.

Take them away from the noise.
Turn off the world for a moment.
Let them breathe.
Let them cry.
Let them feel without fear.

And if the pain feels bigger than both of you,
call for help.
Not because you’ve failed,
but because saving someone
is never a one-person job.

After the storm,
make them tea.
Sit with them.
Don’t preach.
Just be.
Sometimes, presence heals more than prayer.
But if you must pray,
pray with compassion,
not correction.

Tell them:
“You’re not broken,
you’re human.”
“God still has a plan,
even for shattered glass.”

And when they finally sleep,
breathe.
Because holding someone who’s breaking
is holy work.
It’s love in its rawest form.
And love,
is what brings people back.

If you read this whole piece, just remember this,

There are so many people who are willing to help,

it’s just a matter of reaching out and asking for it.

You need to speak up before it consumes you.

“This piece is for every soul who has held another through the dark.
May we never forget, empathy saves lives.”

Sometimes, healing doesn’t come from answers; it comes from presence. From the quiet company of someone who chooses to stay, even when they don’t understand your pain.

Actually, it’s in the small gestures: a text that says “I’m here,” a hand on the shoulder, a moment of silence shared in love.

To those who carry others through storms, may you also find rest. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

The world needs your light, but it also needs you whole. Take time to breathe, to heal, to refill your heart, because empathy starts with self-compassion.
