The pain of not being seen by love

Have you ever been to a season where
things just don’t work, no matter how hard you try,
and every time your phone rings
You already know it’s not about you?

Have you ever been that person?
Everyone runs to when life gets heavy,
the one who listens, fixes, shows up,
But no one really stops to ask
If you are okay too?

They call because you help,
because you always find a way,
because you make things feel lighter for them,
not because they see the weight you carry.

And those who stay,
sometimes they stay for the comfort you give,
for how you make them feel safe,
not because they truly see you.

Have you ever smiled in front of people
while something inside you was breaking,
And no one noticed the difference?

Have you ever wished for just one person,
just one,
who would hear your voice and pause,
who would look at you and say,
“You’re not okay, are you?”

Someone who would read your short replies
and not think you’ve changed,
But understand you’re tired.

Someone who would sit with you in silence,
not asking for anything,
just being there
until the storm inside you calms down.

Someone who would hear you’re sick
and drop everything,
not because they have to,
But because they care.

Being on your own is strong,
it teaches you how to stand,
how to survive,
How to keep going when no one claps for you.

But the truth is,
it gets lonely.

It gets quiet in a way
That even noise can’t be fixed.

You start to realize
No one is coming to save you,
No one is coming to carry you,
and if you fall,
You will have to rise on your own.

And then comes the thinking,
the kind that never rests,
where every call feels like a request,
Every message feels like a need,
And you wonder
If anyone ever reaches out
just to know how you are.

Not what you can do,
not what you can fix,
just you.

And still, you keep going.
You show up.
You answer.
You help.

Because that’s who you are.

Maybe this season is shaping you,
Maybe it’s teaching you strength
You didn’t know you had.

But even then,
It’s okay to wish
that someone would show up for you, too.
