The problem isn’t you leaving without a word,
It’s the expectation that I’d chase after you,
Begging you to stay,
Clinging to something that wasn’t even real.
You thought I’d fall apart,
That I’d crumble at your absence,
That I’d run after you,
Desperate to fix what was never meant to be.
But the truth is,
I’ve learned that some goodbyes are silent for a reason.
Some people leave to show you your worth,
To teach you that you can stand tall without them.
It’s not about the goodbye,
It’s about the expectation that I’d chase after you,
That I’d plead,
That I’d beg you to come back,
When you already knew deep down
It was time to let go.
The problem is not you walking away,
It’s the belief that I’d be lost without you.
I’m learning to walk on my own,
To trust myself,
To find my peace without needing your presence.
So, don’t mistake my silence for weakness,
It’s strength in disguise,
A reminder that I know my worth
And that no one can make me feel less than whole.
The real problem is not the goodbye,
It’s the expectation that I would fall apart,
When really,
I’m just fine.
