The Voice Inside Spoken word.

I used to wake up every morning,
With a weight on my chest,
Feeling like the world was too big,
And I was too small to exist.

You see, there’s this voice inside my head,
It told me lies every day,
“You’re not enough,” it whispered,
“Why even try? Just stay away.”

I’d stand in front of the mirror,
But couldn’t meet my own eyes,
Because what I saw staring back at me,
Were reflections of the lies.

I’d see others shining,
Bright like the sun,
While I hid in the shadows,
Afraid of being the one who’s undone.

But then, one day, I heard another voice,
Quiet at first, but it started to grow,
It came from deep within,
A place I didn’t even know.

It said, “You are more than these doubts,
More than these fears,
You are the sum of all your battles,
And you’ve made it through the years.”

So I took a step,
Though my legs were weak,
And with each breath I took,
I found the strength I’d seek.

I faced the lies,
Stared them down,
And in that moment,
I took back my crown.

Now, when I speak,
I do it with pride,
Because I know my worth,
And I no longer hide.

To anyone out there,
Battling the same fight,
Know that your story isn’t over,
You’re just stepping into the light.

You’re stronger than you think,
Braver than you know,
And even when you fall,
It’s just a chance to grow.

So lift your head,
And don’t be afraid to be seen,
Because the voice that once broke you,
Can also set you free.
