When It’s Time to Stop Chasing People | Spoken Word.

You’ve called…
But no one’s picking up.
You’ve sent messages,
Words full of hope, full of heart,
Yet, the silence is the only thing that speaks back.
And it’s not once, not twice,
It’s every time you reach out,
Trying to prove they matter in your world.

And quietly, you’ve been pleading,
Not with your words, but with your actions.
Hoping they’d notice your presence,
Hoping they’d make room for you,
Or at least, meet you halfway.
But how long can you stretch yourself
For someone who won’t lift a finger?

Maybe it’s time,
Time to pause.
To stop chasing those who wouldn’t take a single step toward you.
You can’t hold on to someone
Who treats you like an option,
While you treat them like a priority.

And here’s the harsh truth,
You can’t shield someone from pain
When they’re the reason you’re hurting.
Why catch their arrows
When they’re the one aiming for your heart?

I know you care.
I know you’ve given your best,
But you deserve more.
More than half-hearted replies,
More than being the only one who tries.
You deserve to be valued for who you are,
Not just for what you bring to the table.

Love,
Real love,
Is not a battlefield where only one side fights.
It’s not begging for time or attention.
And if they can’t see your worth,
Stop wasting your energy proving it.

Letting go isn’t easy,
I won’t lie to you.
Walking away from someone you once held dear
Feels like leaving a part of yourself behind.
But isn’t it lonelier to stay where you feel invisible
Than to walk alone and find peace?

Take a step back,
Even if it’s slow, even if it hurts.
Unhook yourself from spaces
Where your presence is taken for granted.

And when you do,
You’ll realize something powerful:
You were never asking for too much.
You were just asking the wrong person.

So, start today.
Bit by bit, piece by piece.
Because you will manage.
And one day, you’ll see,
Letting go wasn’t losing.
It was making room for something better.

And you?
You’re worth every bit of that better.
