Romantic Ways to Love a Man

There will never be a perfect man.
At some point, he will disappoint you.
He will be inconsistent,
his patience will run thin,
he won’t always know how to carry the weight of your mood swings.
And yes, he gets angry too.
His mood shifts, just like yours.

But love,
love is not about finding perfection.
It’s about embracing the cracks,
the moments that test your patience,
the nights you cry because you expected more,
and still choosing him anyway,
because you know deep inside, he is worth the risk.

Understand…
he is human,
just as fragile as you are,
just as flawed as you.

Kindly, when he calls for freedom,
Give him freedom.
Do not box him in,
Do not choke him with demands.
Because if he truly loves you,
He will never use that freedom to destroy you.
He has a life, dreams, and battles you may never see.
And you,
Remember that you are not his entire world,
But you are a piece of it,
a piece he chose to have for eternity,
Actually, a piece he carries close.

So reciprocate.
Love is not one-sided.
Ask him how his day went.
Notice when his smile feels weaker than usual.
Be patient with him the way you want him to be patient with you.
Love him hard,
not halfway,
not only when it’s easy.

Respect…
yes, respect his choices,
his decisions,
his way of moving through this life.
Respect is the ground where love can breathe.

When it comes to affection,
don’t withhold it.
Wrap him in your arms,
show him he is safe with you,
remind him that even on his worst days,
he is still yours.
Your love is not only in the words you say,
but also, in the warmth of your touch.

As much as you need lots of attention…
don’t forget that he needs it too.
He needs reassurance,
he needs to know he is still the one you choose every day.
Don’t give him reasons to doubt,
give him reasons to trust.

Because sometimes,
we are so desperate to be understood,
that we forget,
men need understanding too.
They crave patience,
Yes, they crave softness,
And they crave love that always says,
“I see you. I still choose you. Even in your imperfections.”

There will never be a perfect man.
But if he is worth the fight,
If his heart beats for you,
Mostly if he is trying,
Then love him as he loves you too.

Because love was never about perfection.
It was always about acceptance.
